ARTIST

Traditions and rituals are the primary inspiration in Maša’s participatory projects. Meaning is never static. It's shaped by the medium and audience interaction. It surrenders to the perpetual flux of life.

Maša Travljanin was born in Ljubljana in 1993 to a young family from Bosnia. She began her artistic education at the School of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (2013), initially focusing on painting. Over time, her practice evolved into installation and participatory work, where connection became the main objective of her work.

She continued her studies at the Art Academy London, earning a Fine Arts Diploma (2019), the Emerging Sculptor Award (2019), and Bachelor of Arts degree (2020).  She is currently pursuing a Fine Arts Master degree in Antwerp.

Since 2021, she has been based between Ljubljana and Antwerp. She has collaborated on public projects such as Paris Rive Gauche (2019) and Montpellier Folie Manuguerra (2023), integrating art into urban spaces. She continues to experiment across mediums and public art formats.
